A guide to student web server

CU student web server (www.student.chula.ac.th) serves personal homepages for student users (accounts on student machines). For now, we don't allow running user's CGI scripts or binaries.

Step-by-step to make your personal homepage here

1. make a sub-directory named "public_html" under your home directory
2. create your HTML document under the public_html directory
3. name the first page or index page of your documents as "index.html".
4. make sure you have execute permission to other users (no need the read permission and group users permissions) for your home directory and your public_html directory. Simply, your home directory should be in "rwx--x--x" (0711) mode at first which is okay, unless you have changed its mode before.
